The design inspiration for the Minda Product Museum stems from the very products it showcases. The precision machined components, engineered to perfection, serve as the driving force behind automobiles worldwide. The museum's layout reflects the ambition of the Minda Group to become a major player in the global market, with its zagged and angular yet flowing design capturing the group's fast-paced maneuvers and global connections.
The museum's aesthetic is kept simple and minimal, with seamless white flowing walls featuring angular edges. All functional display spaces are seamlessly integrated into this edgy wall, either projecting out or cut into it. The result is a space that exudes a machined look, perfectly complementing the showcased automotive components.
One of the standout features of the Minda Product Museum is the custom tinted glass communication wall. This dynamic digital wall, controlled by a horizontal touch surface, allows visitors to interact with the company's products digitally. It also provides real-time access to the Minda Group's facilities across 13 different countries, offering a truly global perspective.
The display area of the museum features selected physical products and components, showcased on white ledges that seamlessly project out or cut into the white edgy periphery walls. A sensor-based black glass wall serves as the background, displaying product information and features as visitors approach specific products on the ledges.
In addition to the current product displays, the Minda Product Museum also includes a section dedicated to future products. This section utilizes a digital holographic display to showcase the group's ongoing research and development initiatives, providing visitors with a glimpse into the future of automotive innovation.
The realization of the Minda Product Museum involved the integration of cutting-edge technologies. The dynamic glass wall, for instance, utilizes multiple LED screens strategically placed behind the tinted glass, which features a color-etched world map showcasing the company's global presence. The wall can be controlled through a unique touch surface developed by Invoxell, allowing visitors to explore specific company plants located around the world.
The museum floor is crafted with engineered sparkled stone, featuring an automotive technical drawing laser-etched onto the surface. Solid glass pods with small screens are placed at different locations on the drawing, communicating the various categories and placements of the products manufactured by the Minda Group.
The Minda Product Museum occupies an area of 180 square meters, with an additional surrounding visitors area of approximately 300 square meters. Strategically located at the reception of the Minda Group corporate headquarters in Gurgaon, India, this museum serves as a testament to the company's commitment to excellence and innovation.
The Minda Product Museum, winner of the prestigious A' Design Award in 2015, offers a truly unique and immersive experience. It showcases the Minda Group's automotive expertise, precision engineering, and technological advancements, while providing visitors with a glimpse into the future of automotive innovation.
